Travel Practicalities
Getting to Lebanon
Rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY) is Lebanon’s main airport.
Main airlines flying to Beirut include:
MEA (Direct), Turkish Airlines (through Istanbul), Pegasus (through Istanbul), Aegean (through Athens), LOT (through Warsaw), Lufthansa (through different German airports), Air France (through Paris). We recommend you booking refundable tickets; travel to Lebanon can sometimes be impacted by regional shifts.
Visas & Passports
Many nationalities do not require a visa to enter Lebanon, and some can obtain a visa on arrival. Please double-check via your country’s embassy website.
Important: If your passport contains an Israeli visa or stamp, you will not be allowed entry into Lebanon.
Getting Around Lebanon
From the airport to your place of stay
You can take airport taxis or use Uber. Please make sure to have cash at hand (Lebanese Pounds or USD). There are money exchange desks in the airport at arrivals.
If you are planning to rent a car, kindly contact Adonis Rent a Car (+9613100132 or info@adonisrentacarlb.com) and mention Abraham and Annika’s wedding for a discounted price. Cars can be picked up at and returned to the airport. There is a possibility to book a driver with the car if needed.
Currency & Payments
Lebanon operates in both US Dollars (USD) and Lebanese Pounds (LBP).
Most places accept USD cash, and small USD denominations are strongly recommended. There’s no need to exchange all your money into Lebanese pounds - only a few places require it. Keep some LBP on hand for those cases, but plan to use USD for the majority of expenses.
Credit cards are accepted in many spots, but not all. Also, some places take a 5% fee if you pay with an international bank card.
Exchange rates can vary. Now it is around 90,000 LBP for 1$.
Wedding Day Transport
We are arranging shuttle buses to transport guests between the different venues on the wedding day. More details will be shared soon.
